Christ “speaks and list’ning to His voice, new life the dead receive”! “Hear Him, ye deaf!”
Who are these “dead” that Charles Wesley refers to in his hymn “O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing”? These dead are sinners!
The concept of death is separation. God is life. Separate from Him, you are spiritually dead. Sin separates us from a Holy God and we can only be brought back on His terms – that is through the Messiah, through Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9-10)
“…even when we were dead in our trespasses, [God] made us alive together with Christ” (Eph 2:5) (Eph 2:1-7)
God wants to give you new life in Christ today! Listen to His voice! (Romans 10:8-9)
