Category Archives: Light of the World

As an artist, I learned that mixing red and blue makes purple.  Red mixed with yellow yields orange.  Blue mixed with yellow produces green.   If you mix all of the primaries, you get, well, mud.   (RYB color model)  This has been refined.  The Subtractive Primary Colors are  cyan, magenta, and yellow.   They produce black at the core.

But, the ADDITIVE PRIMARY COLORS are red, blue, and green.   These are used in television and LED, sources that use light.  At the core, they produce white light.

“God is Light.”  (1 John 1:5John 8:12)

God is the true light, the purest form, a spiritual light.

I’m not a scientist, but I see something cosmic, something heavenly in all this: God is light.   And at the core, is pure white.

“The LORD wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent.”  Psalm 104:2 NIV

“who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.”  1 Timothy 6:16

“In Your light do we see light.”  Psalm 36:9

Is this not Yahshua (Jesus Christ), the Second Person of the Trinity?   He is here in the Book of Daniel.

“As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire.”  Daniel 7:9

Compare this to Jesus (Yahshua) in the Book of Revelation.

“The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow.”  Rev 1:14

This is our Yahshua!  He is pure bright light!

“Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!”  Psalm 43:3

Someday, I expect to see the awesome colors in His Mount Zion, His New Jerusalem!  I believe they are much more intense.

See my post on THE LIFE & THE LIGHT.

My Salvation

Isaiah 49:5 ESV   And now the LORD says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him— for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD, and my God has become my strength— 6 he says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

The Orthodox Jewish Bible reads “that Thou mayest be My Yeshuah (Salvation)”.

Luke 2:25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, 28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 29 “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word;

30 for my eyes have seen your salvation 31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.”

Yeshuah came to be a light for all people, even to the Gentiles.  And Yeshuah, after He had risen from the dead, said:

Matthew 28:18 …  “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

The Holy Spirit (Ruach haKadosh), gave the apostles and disciples the power to spread the good news on the Day of Pentecost.  Through many persecutions and trials, the faithful have spread His name, the name of Salvation, and the Light of the world.  There are believers in every land!   Even in places of severest persecution, the gospel goes on because there is Truth and Light and Love.

“Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.”  Isaiah 9:7

Do you believe the Scriptures and the words of Isaiah?   Surely, no one fits the role of Messiah but Jesus Christ!   Truly, Emmanuel, Yeshuah came to be Light, over 2000 years ago.   And He will come again and save Israel!

7 “And the LORD will give salvation to the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not surpass that of Judah. 8 On that day the LORD will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the LORD, going before them. 9 And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy,

so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced…”  Zechariah 12:7-10

“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.”  Isaiah 53:5

Yeshuah is our Salvation!

YHWH is God

Psalm 117:1 Praise the LORD, all nations!  Extol him, all peoples!  2 For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.  Praise the LORD

Psalm 117 is the middle and shortest chapter of Bible.  It assures one that God is good.   That’s in contrast to the devil’s deception.  Satan implied that God wasn’t giving them the best by keeping the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil from them.

Between the shortest chapter, Psalm 117and the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119, lies the redemption story.   It is prophesied as events of the life of Jesus Christ.  The Bible itself reflects the redemption story because it is crucial to understanding how good God is – that He would pay the price for man’s sins!  Even the Feasts of the LORD reflect it:   from being spared the death plague in Egypt to our living forever with the LORD!

PSALM 118

Psalm 118 begins with:

1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
for His steadfast love endures forever!

He is ever faithful to those who have an awesome respect for God.  God is good!  His redemption story secures it.

Verses 5-9 express what Christ would have experienced in Gethsemane.

5 Out of my distress I called on the LORD;
the LORD answered me and set me free.
6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
7 The LORD is on my side as my helper;
I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

Christ will look on in triumph at the Second Coming when everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD!

‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’  Isaiah 45:23  This is also reiterated in Romans 14:11 and Philippians 2:10-11.

The popular “middle verse” of the Bible in my days (but changed to Psalm 117):

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD
than to trust in man.

It’s a good standard to follow ALWAYS.   Mankind can mislead you.  The LORD never will.

Verses 10 – 13 show the LORD on Golgotha:

10 All nations surrounded me;
in the name of the LORD I cut them off!
11 They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side;
in the name of the LORD I cut them off!
12 They surrounded me like bees;
they went out like a fire among thorns;
in the name of the LORD I cut them off!
13 I was pushed hard,a so that I was falling,
but the LORD helped me.

The blessed LORD was pushed hard in His flesh, but the LORD, His eternal essence, sustained Him.

Verses 14 -18 show the Resurrection of the LORD.

14 The LORD is my strength and my song;
He has become my salvation.
15 Glad songs of salvation
are in the tents of the righteous:
“The right hand of the LORD does valiantly,
16 the right hand of the LORD exalts,
the right hand of the LORD does valiantly!”

17 I shall not die, but I shall live,
and recount the deeds of the LORD.
18 The LORD has disciplined me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.

The LORD died physically, yes, indeed.  His Holy Spirit, however, remains!  It is the life-giving force to His resurrected body!  Did not He say:

“and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”  John 11:26

We can all live for Christ is resurrected!  And now He opens to us doors to eternal life!

19 Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them
and give thanks to the LORD.
20 This is the gate of the LORD;
the righteous shall enter through it.

The “gates of righteousness” are now open to all through the blood of Christ!  But some rejected His work on the cross.

22 The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.

Will they come back?

23 This is the LORD’s doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.

Salvation is marvelous!   God is good!  Salvation has been bought and paid for!

“Hosanna” means “Oh, save now!”

25 Save us, we pray, O LORD!
O LORD, we pray, give us success!

27 The LORD is God,
and He has made His light to shine upon us.

As the celebrants saluted Jesus Christ on His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, so it will be again the cry of the righteous.   “Oh, save now!”   Jesus Christ has promised His return and the LORD will defend Jerusalem!

3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. 4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west …   (Zechariah 14:3-4)

First, Jesus Christ needed to pay the price for our sins, that which keeps us separated from God, but soon all who are Israel will be drawn to Him.

10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.”

May I stress: “on Him whom they have pierced.”   They pierced the arms and legs of Jesus Christ!   He is the Savior!

“Truly, you are a God who hides Himself,
O God of Israel, the Savior.”  Isaiah 45:15

Jesus Christ made atonement for our sins, so great is His mercy!  Psalm 118 ends in the same way as it started:

29 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
for His steadfast love endures forever!

His love endures!  God is good all the time!
